My name is Kacie and I have such a soft spot for all animals. I have two cats, Huxley and Felix. I’ve had Huxley for 11 years and Felix for about 1 year. I can’t imagine life without my fur babies to keep me company! Although I don’t have a dog, I have a lot of experience with dogs. I grew up with two dogs and have dog sat for family members, which included the usual feeding, walking, playing, and medications. I have experience with giving topical and oral medications. I also have experience with deaf/blind dogs and reactive dogs. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry friends!

I have over 12 years of experience in animal welfare, with a strong background in both hands-on care and organizational leadership. I founded and operated a nonprofit dog rescue specializing in dogs with behavioral challenges, providing rehabilitation and placement services. In addition to running the rescue, I provided private dog training services to clients, focusing on behavior modification and obedience.
My professional background also includes serving as an Area Manager for five different boarding, training, and grooming facilities, where I was responsible for daily operations, staff management, and client satisfaction. I have extensive experience as a veterinary technician, working in clinical settings to support animal health and wellness.
Additionally, I’ve contributed to program development at the Humane Society, helping to launch and grow new initiatives aimed at improving animal care and community outreach. I remain deeply committed to volunteering my time with various rescue organizations, continuing my lifelong dedication to improving the welfare of pets in need

I am a retired high school history & social studies teacher who has lived in Carmel for 30 years. I've had cats since 1983 and dogs from 1994 to 2018, and have thoroughly enjoyed being manipulated by my four-legged friends. All of our pets are rescues; the cats have all been domestic shorthairs and our dogs both shepherd mixes. My wife and I have been married since 1991, and we have two grown children: a son down in Bloomington and a daughter in Nashville, TN. And both are pet lovers as well.
